Drew's Cheetos World Tour!
By Drew
In January 2018, I traveled through some parts of Europe and got to try some Cheetos along the way! This was before I started my current rating system and I don't want to retroactively give them numbered scores because it's been too long since I actually tasted them. But I bothered to write up some reviews for them so here they are!
Enjoy!
Rizos

- Basically smaller puffs
- Slightly softer & more mealy in texture, easier to eat handful after handful
- Cheese flavor tastes slightly more fake(?) Idk exactly how to describe it but it's slightly different than puffs; not sure if for better or for worse
- I'd say worse for overall quality of taste but easier for inhaling many rapidly. So if that's your goal then I guess the flavor of these is better
- The flavor was nothing spectacular; just a fairly decent cheese flavor but it tasted sort of artificial. They're just mild enough to allow me to continue eating for a long time.
Pelotazos

- The best ones I've had so far
- The shape is spherical which is not only good for eating but is also fun especially since they bothered to color the stitching patterns of a soccer ball on each individual piece
- The flavor is not overbearing yet it is also not too bland like some of the others; I could eat many and enjoy it too
- The flavor is more unique than the others; it's not just some variation of the regular cheese flavor, it tastes like something of its own.
- Tbh my first impression was that they used some sort of meat to influence the flavor of these; that's not actually the case, but it's a flavor that's not quite as much cheesy but I'm actually still pretty fond of.
- Second opinion: I think I hyped these up a bit too much before. They're certainly not bad but they're not as special as I was making them seem before
Gustosines

- Basically just Pirate's Booty
- More consistent though which is preferable
- Texture and shape is reminiscent of Rizos, but they're slightly smaller and easier to get handfuls of
- Flavor is also more consistent piece to piece than pirate's booty and flavor is def milder too.
- Like others, these make it easy to eat a lot of at a time. But they're really nothing special. I got little enjoyment out of these; they're certainly not bad, but they're not really good for anything except filling the space in your stomach if there is nothing else around.
Sticks (Palitos)

- These ones are more unique because they have a cheese/ketchup flavor which I've never heard of before
- My first impression of these was that the flavoring was weak and I tasted the corn meal more than anything; however that's because I'm an American used to classic cheese-overloaded Cheetos
- The shape is fun and unique; at first you might think they're your regular curved sticks but once you pick one up you'll realize they have a cross-section that more closely resembles a square shape slightly reminiscent of veggie straws (these, of course, are not hollow though)
- The flavor never wowed me or anything; it was never like “damn these are good" it was like “these aren't bad,” and they were decent and mild enough to allow me to eat many at once
Pandilla

- These ones are the most unique so far. Primarily because they're made from potatoes and not corn which gives them a distinctly different taste.
- They do not just taste like chips though; I'm not sure how they're made but they're not as thin and crispy. They're a bit more mealy like a cheeto.
- And the best part: the shape! They come in two different bat shapes which are adorable and fun and I love Chester's vampire costume.
- When strictly considering eating experience, I think I'd prefer this thin shape to the more typical stick-like shape. However, these are much more prone to breaking and I had lots of broken pieces in the bag which isn't common among most Cheetos.
- The flavor tastes like the same old cheese, however since these are potato based the taste is pretty unique. Like most of these it's not a “wow" but more of a “slightly above average" which is fine for content snacking.
- These ones might be my favorites thus far due to their uniqueness and fun shape.
That is all! Hopefully one day I can try these all again, along with all the other foreign Cheetos out there I have never even laid eyes on, and give them all official scores.
Bye!
